Quand J’entends Les Gens
Mélodie Lauret
When I Hear People
Often when I hear people coming home from a night out, I just laugh
Often when I hear people coming home from a night out, I just laugh
I've seen souls in pain
I've seen guys lagging behind
In the early hours of the week
Searching with their eyes for one last score
I heard them trying to catch attention
Conversations of king and queen
Where princesses and princes of the wasted night
Exchange their royal words
As long as I can pass by without asking questions
Among their group, I’ll listen to their conversations
Often when I hear people coming home from a night out, I just laugh
Often when I hear people coming home from a night out, I just laugh
And that night, completely wasted
With a cigarette stuck up his nose
There’s the one who’s half out of it
His buddy trailing behind trying to catch up
There are those who suddenly realize
That at that moment, the booze hit hard
Who turn back on their steps then get lost
Searching for a set of keys or their credit card
As long as I can pass by without asking questions
Among their group, I’ll listen to their conversations
Often when I hear people coming home from a night out, I just laugh
Often when I hear people coming home from a night out, I just laugh
I’d love to be their buddy, their friend
To think that I’m one of them, just for a moment
Just for a moment, just for a moment, for a moment
For a moment, for a moment, just for a moment
For a moment, for a moment, just for a moment
Often when I hear people coming home from a night out, I just laugh
Often when I hear people coming home from a night out, I just bounce
I just bounce
