Tonada Del Otoño
Mercedes Sosa
Autumn Tune
Autumn in Mendoza is not the same
You have to walk with your soul like a child
Understand the farewell to the leaves
And lay down in their yellow dream
The song that comes down the irrigation ditch
Has a story of water goblins
Characters that one day came out
To fill our skin with tunes
The mischievous breeze has started to gather
Sighs of tired clouds
This rain that begins in my eyes
Is nothing but a whim of loneliness
It's possible to find each name
In the voice whispered by the hills
The landscape demands from the outside
Our warm inner landscape
To be the afternoon that returns in sparrows
To die of embrace in the nest
And have a friend by your side
To create a silence of friends
The afternoon tells us as it takes the sun away
That every memory begins with a goodbye
For those who have lived it in Mendoza
Autumn is things that love invented
