Alla Lejos Y Hace Tiempo
Mercedes Sosa
Far Away and Long Ago
Far, very far from the sun
The memory from there returns
I feel in my eyes shine
The blue solitude of my homeland.
The wind whispers and goes away
Driving the color crazy
And nostalgia is a goodbye
Of poppy and wood pigeon, butterfly and sparrow.
Far away the homeland walked,
Bluing the day
Sky there
Time there,
I return as a child to the wonder of the south
And through my blood a maternal voice
Names life.
The ombú tree raises its shadow
Poncho of immensity,
And my distant country
Is a sweet root that doesn't know how to forget.
Facing the mist and the sea
The distance is a goodbye
And I start to think that the memory of all
Has become a song.
Far away the homeland walked,
Bluing the day
Sky there
Time there,
I return as a child to the wonder of the south
And through my blood a maternal voice
Names Argentina...!
