Como Mata El Viento Norte
Mercedes Sosa
How the North Wind Kills
How the north wind kills,
When August is in the day,
And the space of these bodies
Illuminates.
A beggar shows jewels,
To the blind on the corner.
And a puppy of the Lord
Amazes us.
Talk to me only,
About clouds and sun.
I don't want to know anything,
About the misery of the world today.
And it's a good day,
There is some peace.
The earth is our sister.
Mars does not yield,
To the power of the sun.
Venus enchants us,
The moon knows of its attraction.
While we,
Die here,
With closed eyes,
We see nothing but our nose.
How the north wind kills,
When August is in the day,
And the space of these bodies
Illuminates.
Lord night,
Be my cradle,
Be my day.
My little soul dances with joy,
With joy,
With joy...
