Sueño Con Serpientes

Dreaming of Snakes
There are men who fight for a day
And they are good
There are others who fight for a year
And they are better
There are those who fight for many years
And they are very good
But there are those who fight their whole life
Those are the indispensable
Bertolt Brecht
Dreaming of snakes, of sea snakes
With a certain sea, oh, of snakes I dream
Long, transparent, and in their bellies they carry
Whatever they can snatch from love
Oh, I kill her and a bigger one appears
Oh, with much more hell in digestion
I don't fit in her mouth, she tries to swallow me
But she chokes on a clover from my temple
I think she's crazy; I give her to chew
A dove and poison her with my kindness
She finally swallows me, and as I walk through her esophagus
I wonder what will come
But she destroys herself when I reach her stomach
And I pose a truth with a verse
