Zamba Del Que Anda Solo
Mercedes Sosa
Lonely Walker's Zamba
In the distance rises the dust
Gesture of the air over the land
Sign of the horizon that the mountain and the sandy soil make for me
Where the road begins and this destiny of walking and walking
If they don't remember me when I return
I leave them this zamba against oblivion
Because absence kills and the lonely one dies of loneliness
So they don't forget, I take with me the vice of not forgetting
The one who walks alone sees a dove in the smoke
A dream there, where one cannot reach
I will search for it by sky, land, and sea
Between dove and smoke and even if it seems like a dust storm
Because I search for you, it has the way
Not just distance but meaning
And even if it's hard to find you, I will die from walking
I know you are looking for me because I have seen your loneliness
Behind a night of long moon
The sky of your tenderness wakes me up early
And when the day breaks, your eyes come out to greet the morning
And in all the roads, absence is just a dust storm
