El Crucifijo de Piedra
Miguel Aceves Mejía
The Stone Crucifix
When I was loving her
When I was feeling her
All mine, I saw her leave
She swore she would come back
But it was all a lie
Because her soul was no longer mine
In the silent night
We looked at each other face to face
Without speaking
Suddenly she told me
To forget her love
That she didn't want to deceive me
It was beneath the crucifix
On the tower of a church
When the moon illuminated us
I held her in my arms
Wanting to stop her
But pride prevented me
Alone in front of the church
And crying before Christ
I went to implore
And as he saw my sadness
The stone crucifix
Also began to cry
