Flag, how much joy
I feel in my soul when I see you waving.
Flag of my homeland,
finally the day of your freedom has come.
Puerto Rican flag,
the noble emblem of the country,
seeing you so beautiful and cheerful
with a tanned soul, I come to sing to you.

Borinquen beloved homeland,
you also have a flag, (how could you not?)
Flag, may God bless you,
divine flag of my Borinquén.

Flag, when you thought
you would not float again,
you reached the dreamed summit
and the people sang the triumphal march.
Patriots who have already passed away,
those who gave us flag and honor,
they left without even seeing
their beautiful flag waving under the sun.
