Canasta de Sueños
Miguel Aceves Mejía
Basket of Dreams
Though sometimes it gets pretty pricey
To be honest and sincere,
I give myself with my eyes closed
To the love I hold dear.
My heart's a little boat
With a passenger inside
So poor he's been both
Captain and oarsman, trying to ride.
And it's up to you if you want
To live in my heart,
Paying the price
With a little love to start.
Those clouds look like carriages
Taking folks to the sky;
Here I go, if two things kill me:
Love and jealousy, oh my.
My heart's a treasure chest
Holding a bright star,
A blood-red star
That whispers, "I love you" from afar.
And it's up to you if you want
To live in my heart,
Paying the price
With a little love to start.
I asked the basket seller,
I begged him with all my might,
To help me sell to the one I love
My basket of dreams tonight.
My heart's a palace
With just one resident,
Who can't settle for
Seeing you distant and bent.
And it's up to you if you want
To live in my heart,
Paying the price
With a little love to start.
