Si Tu Te Escapas
Miguel Inzunza
If You Escape
I collected all my nonsense, all my lies,
I believed in the luck I promised her,
She let her guard down and gave her life.
I erased my tracks,
so she wouldn’t follow me to war,
where my sword is my old guitar,
and victory is my persistence.
And now without her,
I’m a lonely, cold cage,
holding onto melancholy,
and nostalgia for company.
If you escape,
I’m becoming addicted to the windows,
I’m a clown with no sense of humor,
and I don’t love putting on a face.
If you escape,
I’m an accent on a consonant,
I’m a ghost that doesn’t scare anyone,
the epicenter of your disaster,
of your disaster.
If she escapes,
I’m an antidote that no longer heals,
the rent for the moon will go up,
I’m corrupt, bribing muses.
I should have killed her,
my honesty is a slap in the face,
my stupidity smashed her face,
my bad luck turns into cunning.
If you escape,
I’m an accent on a consonant,
I’m a ghost that doesn’t scare anyone,
the epicenter of your disaster.
If you escape,
I’m an accent on a consonant,
I’m a perfect cowardly loser,
for not telling you that I’m guilty,
that I’m guilty.
