Jenseits vom Tresen

Beyond the Bar
When even my kid doesn't do what I want anymore,
then we're beyond the bar.
When I don't feel the earth shaking
and the room spinning.
Then a day would have been lived in vain
Because at home there's only water left,
that's why we're beyond the bar.
When you have to pay dearly just
to be happy for a moment.
Then we would have lived in vain!
Let's raise a glass to our mouths every day
and maybe buy the bartender a beer too.
When he holds the glass under the tap
and he
won't bother me about tomorrow, just enjoy today
Because eventually I have to go home
And then I want to say: This night was so beautiful!
When even my kid doesn't do what I want anymore,
then I'm beyond the bar.
When I don't feel the earth shaking
and the room spinning.
Then a day would have been lived in vain!
Because at home there's only water left,
that's why we're beyond the bar.
When you have to pay dearly just
to be happy for a moment.
Then we would have lived in vain!
