Tu Nombre En Los Labios
Mikel Erentxun
Your Name On The Lips
I pronounce your name on the lips gravely;
The same that once like a sesame opened
my eyes to your image, clear as day
and your name that still echoes you are absent.
You who were then the coast that moves away,
deepened in the west your definitive light.
I ventured with your name adrift,
now it becomes incomprehensible and leaves me.
Your name on the lips, I wonder how long:
I don't want to think that I'm forgetting you.
My voice seeks an ancient spark, a memory
around your name so different to my ears,
but the spell has been broken in a thousand forgetfulness.
I lost you once, for the second time I lose you.
Your name on the lips, I wonder how long:
I don't want to think that I'm forgetting you.
