Coração Civil
Milton Nascimento
Civil Heart
I want utopia, I want everything and more
I want happiness in a father's eyes
I want joy, many happy people
I want justice to reign in my country
I want freedom, I want wine and bread
I want to be friendship, I want love, pleasure
I want our city always sunny
The children and the people in power, I want to see
San Jose of Costa Rica, civil heart
Inspire me in my dream of love Brazil
If the poet is the one who dreams what will become real
I will dream good things that man does
And wait for the fruits in the backyard
Without police, nor militia, nor spell to have power?
Long live laziness, long live the cunning that only we know how to have
Saying this, my utopia, I go on with life
I will live much better
Crazy to see my stubborn dream, one day come true
