Paisagem da Janela
Milton Nascimento
Window Landscape
From the side window of the bedroom
I see a church, a sign of glory
I see a white wall and a bird flying
I see a grid, an old sign
Natural messenger of natural things
When I spoke of these morbid colors
When I spoke of these sordid men
When I was talking about this storm
You didn't listen
You don't want to believe
But this is so normal
You don't want to believe
And I just was
Marginal knight washed in stream
Black knight who lived mysteries
Knight and lord of house and trees
Not wanting rest or Sunday
Marginal knight bathing in a stream
I saw the towers and the cemeteries
I met the men and their wakes
When I looked out the side window
From the bedroom
You don't want to believe
But this is so normal
You don't want to believe
But this is so normal
A marginal knight
Bathed in a stream
You don't want to believe
That I just was
