He Was Wounded
No one believed
When the Son of God appeared
No one received him
For he was like you and me
A common man
And for a limited time
But some believed
He had the right to be a son of God
He took upon his shoulders, our pains
And bore my sins upon himself
What afflicted us, he subdued
And my sins, he forgave
Only out of love
He was wounded for loving me
Crucified, to save me
He took my punishment upon himself
And died, he died for me
He rose to justify
The sinner who accepts him
And is by the Father's side
Interceding
For loving me
