In the Morning
In the morning I address with praises
To the God who has been my only hope
In the morning I address with my soul
And I beg Him to give me His sweet calm
He listens to me, for He loves me so much
And relieves me from any distress
He listens to me, for He loves me so much
And relieves me from any distress
When the night approaches darkly
In raising myself in prayer my soul delights
I feel His inexhaustible, sweet, grateful peace
Because fears and anxieties if it's Christ who kills them
I also raise my song to the sky
When the Earth lowers the black veil
The sun hides, but Christ remains
Whom my eyes have already seen in a dream
His very penetrating light shines while I sleep
He puts His hand on me if I am sick
Strengthens me, sustains me with sleep
For you are my King, my redeemer, and you are my owner
Upon awakening, in the morning, I feel
That God invades my soul in thought
I see Jesus, my beloved redeemer
Crucified for my sins on a cross
I see the blood from His hands that has flowed
I see the blood shed on His face
I see the crown of thorns on His forehead
And the mocking, insolent crowd
For what He said, when He ascended to heaven
Full of glory, in majestic cloud
Stay with me, I will soon return
To gather you who are my people
