Pieces
For a long time, man has sailed alone,
Cutting paths through rough seas;
The ranches are boats full of uncertainty
Displaying, at the table, empty seats.
Vanities reign on screens and mirrors,
And the wise advice of the one who created us,
Through lack of use, time wears away
And we drift away from what we believed.
(But I won't give up on the embrace
Nor on God's protection!
If life breaks the bond,
I weave the pieces,
As an example to mine!
And the one guiding my fate
Put the reins and faith in my hand;
Holds the bit firmly in my jaw,
The world in balance and honor standing tall.)
Because the mind forgets what the pen doesn't plow
And words themselves have lost their value,
Without a safe harbor, passions surface
And a home crumbles due to lack of love.
Consumerism rules without asking permission;
There's no longer belief in any religion;
And the remaining lights of the few families
Are already like islands in the darkness.
(But I won't give up on the embrace
Nor on God's protection!
If life breaks the bond,
I weave the pieces,
As an example to mine!
And the one guiding my fate
Put the reins and faith in my hand;
Holds the bit firmly in my jaw,
The world in balance and honor standing tall.)
From my trench, I face this war,
Drawing on the ground what the lesson says;
Blocking the blows with a sturdy body
And firmly planted feet, anchored in the ground.
Within those who are my people,
I plant the seed, covering it with my hand.
Even if I don't harvest the ripe fruit,
In a future time, others will.
(But I won't give up on the embrace
Nor on God's protection!
If life breaks the bond,
I weave the pieces,
As an example to mine!
And the one guiding my fate
Put the reins and faith in my hand;
Holds the bit firmly in my jaw,
The world in balance and honor standing tall.)
