Las Posadas
Misión S.O.S
The Inn
In the name of heaven, I ask for a place to stay
For my beloved wife can’t walk today
This isn’t an inn, keep moving along
I shouldn’t open up, don’t let a crook come on strong
Don’t be inhumane, show us some grace
For the God of the heavens, will reward your place
You can leave now, and stop being a pain
'Cause if I get mad, I’ll lay you down in shame
We come exhausted, from Nazareth's land
I’m a carpenter, going by Joseph’s hand
I don’t care about names, let me sleep through the night
'Cause I’m telling you now, we won’t open, alright?
An inn asks of you, dear landlord, just for one night
The Queen of Heaven, shining bright
But if it’s a queen making this plea
Why is she out here, alone at night? Can’t you see?
My wife is Mary, she’s the Queen above
And soon she’ll be the mother of Divine Love
Are you Joseph? Is your wife Mary too?
Come in, travelers, I didn’t know it was you
God bless you, gentlemen, for your kind heart
And may the heavens fill you with joy to impart
Blessed is the house that welcomes today
The pure virgin, lovely Mary, we say
Come in, holy travelers, you’re welcome here
Though this home is humble, it’s yours, my dear
Let’s sing with joy, as we all reflect,
That Jesus, Joseph, and Mary came to connect
Come in, holy travelers, you’re welcome here
Though this home is humble, it’s yours, my dear.
