Tor I Helheim
Myrkur
Thor in Helheim
A high chair stood beneath the vaulted stone
It was made of skulls and the bones of the dead
There Hel threatened, all was white at her feet
With a blue ice gaze from the blood that flowed below
A white bone bleached in the moonlight
She reached out to the living with a vengeful mind
It smelled of decay, she sprang like a beast
As a king's scepter, she wielded it in her grim hand
It was so quiet in there, a stench of death everywhere
No winds stirred, only hollow sighs echoed
Three torches flickered blue by each dead one
A sight of pure terror with no trace of blood
There Thor smiled, he turned around
He must quickly rush into the circle of the dead
He shouted loudly in there these harsh words
So go it every woman who dares not follow Thor
To the wretched fools who fear wounds and death
Now Hel will eternally torment you with pain and bitter need
You did not let the helmet vault over your head boldly in battle
You were made to tremble, so tremble for all time
Then the fierce giant stepped firmly before Hel
He had to lower his voice in her dark home
He said, ghastly woman, you justly punish
Yet I do not stand here willingly in this gloom
To Udgard's lord to go there my mind was set
There he could match me as I wandered in
So show me if you can what way I must go
To the strong clans in Jotunheim to walk
Then Hel screamed at the wielder of Mjölnir with her ugly voice
It rang like a sword clanging against a suit of armor
Leave my dark bow, go forth soon you’ll be there
It blinds me to see your health's rosy glow
Then Thor waved abruptly with a daring glance
Say, Loki, should you turn back as Hel passed by
He closed his eye tightly, so heavy was he that time
She looked at him and sighed, in her grip it rang
