Relato de Un Secuestro
Nacho Cano
Tale of a Kidnapping
Kidnapped in a space
of two by two I made hatred
the engine of liberation.
The light bulb inspired me
to realize that the light is in cutting
the electricity cables.
Chorus:
The demons I carry inside
are 220 of killer tension,
ready to assault
the guardian of my prison.
I saved my own urine
in cans that I hid
and one night I spread it around the room.
I cut the light cables
and climbed onto the cot.
The one who kept me in iron succumbed to steel.
Chorus
That light that blinded me so quickly
led me to astonishment
as I realized
that this house was my home.
I retraced my steps to the hole
and my blood turned to ice
when I discovered that under the hood
my husband was the kidnapper.
From hope to horror
from hatred to powerlessness
my freedom suffocates when uncovered
that lover and executioner are the same.
