Canción de Palacio

Palace Song
With all these pages I have built my mansion in a high area of the city, sunny and residential.
I was offered - and it was a bargain - child labor by a certain large multinational.
Of course, I refused.
You wouldn't believe the things you hear when your walls are all made of paper.
Last night I heard two guys planning a nuclear war while making myself a tea.
And sometimes I hear the rats
that gnaw at the wall.
I give them brown paper
the one I use to remove ink from my skin.
And I live like this in my paper palace.
It's good here, it's good.
The weather woman announces a gale,
but I won't leave; I'll resist.
And voices are heard talking about eviction and I know they want to tear down my humble mansion.
Apparently, a certain Louis Vuitton intends to open a new boutique here.
Maybe I'll talk to him...
Or maybe I'll barricade myself here, and like any animal, I'll know what to do.
Or understand that if I don't lose faith it's because I never had any to lose.
But in twenty-eight years,
see that I rebuilt it
with these dirty hands
a thousand times and I keep living like this,
like a king in my paper palace.
It's good here, it's good.
The weather woman announces a hurricane,
but I won't leave; I'll resist.
And if there's a fire, I'll learn to burn.
And if I start burning, I'll learn to extinguish myself.
And I live like this in my paper palace...
(I have a reason and I will ACT again.)
(There is no IMPUNITY but I will act.)
