Sri Guru Carana Padma
Narottama Dasa Thakura
The Lotus Feet of Sri Guru
The lotus feet of the spiritual master are the abode of pure devotional service
I bow down to them with great care
By his mercy, brother, one can cross over this material world
And attain the lotus feet of Krishna
I will unite my consciousness with the words of the spiritual master
And not keep any other desire in my mind
Attachment to the lotus feet of the spiritual master is the highest goal
By his mercy, all desires are fulfilled
He who has given me the gift of eyes
Is my Lord birth after birth, revealing divine knowledge in my heart
From him comes pure love and devotion
By which ignorance is destroyed, as sung in the Vedas
The spiritual master is an ocean of mercy, the friend of the fallen souls
He is the life of the people, the master of the universe
O Lord, please be merciful, give me the shade of your feet
Now let me glorify and conquer the three worlds
The dust of the feet of the Vaishnavas is my ornament
By which I gain experience
Cleansing and worship happen, always in the association of saints
Ignorance and illusion are defeated
All glories to Sanatana and Rupa, the wellsprings of divine love
Their bodies are radiant with the love of the Divine Couple
By their mercy, all sorrows of the world are removed
And the tree of transcendental love bears visible fruits
The process of devotional service and divine love
Has been elaborately described in their writings
By hearing about them, the heart floats in the joy of divine love
Taking shelter of the sweet nectar of the Divine Couple
The youthful love of the Divine Couple is like a hundred thousand golden arrows
Those who have revealed this treasure
All glories to Rupa and Sanatana, give me the wealth of love
These jewels are my only ornaments
The essence of the Bhagavatam, the ninefold path of devotional service
I will always carefully serve
There is no shelter other than the Supreme Lord
This is the highest form of worship
The words of the saint, scripture, and guru
I will unite in my heart
And always float in the ocean of divine love
The karmis and jnanis are devoid of devotion
Narottama sings this truth
