Retrato Sagrado

Sacred Portrait
In my little room
There's still an old man
A painting that contains
A portrait that is Sacred
And in it captured
The face of my mother
I went to bed some days
To kiss the portrait
As it's always my wish
I saw her mouth move
Seeming to believe she's telling me
Your kiss is so sweet
Mother
You left and didn't come back
But you still left me
Your portrait by you
Mother
Your portrait so beautiful
Seems to be smiling
Night and day at me
This dear portrait
So old and worn
That my Mother left me
When she died she told me
Take it, this is the one
That cried so much for you
This dear jewel
That to give me life
She lost her own
My God, I ask you to pray
To reward her
Give her a good place in heaven
