To prisoner number nine
They will soon confess him
He's praying in the cell
With the prison's priest

Because before dawn
They will take his life
Because he killed his wife

He says to the confessor

Was a very upright man
He went to the night of the duel
Very happy to his hut

But upon seeing his love
In the arms of his rival
He felt the resentment in his chest
And couldn't hold back

At the sound of the bugle
The firing squad formed
And on the way to the wall
The prisoner was heard saying
