Merceditas

Merceditas
What sweet charm it has
in my memory Merceditas
scented little flower
my love at once.
I met her in the countryside
far away one afternoon
where the wheat fields grow
province of Santa Fe.
That's how our love was born
with hope, with much faith
but I don't know why the flower
withered and died.
And loving her with crazy love
that's how I came to understand
what it means to love, what it means to suffer
because I gave her my heart.
Like a wandering complaint
in the countryside it floats
the vague echo of my song
remembering that love.
But despite the time
that has passed, it's Merceditas
the legend that pulses
in my nostalgic song.
What sweet charm it has
in my memory Merceditas
scented little flower
my love at once.
I met her in the countryside
far away one afternoon
where the wheat fields grow
province of Santa Fe.
That's how our love was born
with hope, with much faith
but I don't know why the flower
withered and died.
And loving her with crazy love
that's how I came to understand
what it means to love, what it means to suffer
because I gave her my heart.
