Chamamecero
Neto Fagundes
Chamamecero
As if darkness brought light
As if the heart were to explode
I chewed my words, denied the sorrow
Just to see the tear of joy
I wanted to calm the pain, I saw myself through life
I wanted to know love, I made a chamamé
Full of affection, crazy with joy
But as a chamamecero I felt
Like a good boy hugging his father
Like a nostalgic mother pampering her child
I was getting emotional at the command of the accordion player
But what a chamamecero, I repeated
(The hand comes giving me a punch
I respond with a Sapucai
The foot tramples the beat
And the soul shivers
And almost bursts the bellows
And hopes for life to get better)
