Saint Joseph, I wanted to be like you: Holy man
Man of faith who pleased God
Saint Joseph, you obeyed the Father
And welcomed as a necessity the mother of the Savior

Ah! Saint Joseph, chaste man, faithful man!
I want to have your purity to please God

When the angel appeared, and the order came in a dream
You took care to fulfill it
Ah! What firmness of will! You loved in truth
Forgetting about yourself

Saint Joseph, you took care of the little God
