Aqui Me Pongo a Cantar
Noel Guarany
Here I Start to Sing
Here I start to sing
To the rhythm of the guitar
That to the man who is tormented
By an extraordinary sorrow
Like the lonely bird
Singing brings solace
I've seen many famous singers
Who, after gaining fame
Don't want to sustain it
It seems they get tired of the games
With the guitar in hand, not even the girls come near me
No one can surpass me and when the chest is tuned
That one looks at the treble string and the bass string cries
I'm a gaucho and I understand their language
Their tongue explains
For me, this land is rich
And could be even greater
Not even the snake bites me
The Sun burns my forehead
Here, doctors are not worth anything
Only experience is worth something
Here, innocence is valued
This is something everyone knows
Because this one has the suit
And the gaucho has sustenance
Famous singers are already known
They want to be heard
But they don't want to give their opinion
They have fun singing
But I sing with an opinion
That's all I do
Through the 'tantan' of the idea, at the pace of the good horse
I light a cigarette in the dark
Beautiful night, I think, I think
Dew from the immense sky
Perfumes the ripe field
This habit comes from when I was a boy, I suffered reprimands
For letting out the things of the heart in my voice
When fireflies fly
For talking to myself
For singing softly in the solitude of these fields
My horse pricking up its ears, alert to any danger
Goes on without fear
Sometimes not even chewing the bit
To listen to what I say
