Ya Están Las Semillas
Noel Nicola
The Seeds Are Sown
It's been a good day,
weather's been nice.
The seeds are sown
and scattered in the breeze
for my joy,
for my delight.
At the end of the day
I come back thirsty,
I'd drink up the time
and the wonder
that I announce and sense
like simple water.
How great it would be
that at the end of the day
and walking straight
I could go to your bed
and find in your heart
the water I wanted.
How great it would be
that in your company
the moment would come
to see the joy
that’s still out there
sown in the wind.
The weather's been nice
but it hasn't rained
and poorly distributed
is the water I want;
it's dust, agony,
just a longing.
How great it would be
that even in defiance,
even out of season,
there'd be an invention
that calms the thirsty
in the empty cup.
How great it would be,
that's why today
we have to make the effort
and even if there's a drought
sow some joy
waiting for the moment.
The seeds are sown
and scattered in the breeze
and what a wonder,
this wonder
that I plant and defend.
It's been a good day
though I still don't have you.
