Little Vinegar
Little Vinegar is a little cat
That looks like cotton.
He's a clean cat,
Licked and playful.
He likes sardines
And is friends with the mouse,
He's a very sociable cat,
My cotton little cat.
I named him Little Vinegar,
Because he was ugly and skinny,
But I took care of him so much
That he looks like Little Vinegar,
A paper cat,
Meow, meow, meow, meow,
With a bell.
He was in a carton
When I picked him up,
Tiny and starving,
Thrown away.
I gave him a bowl of milk
And he was so happy
That he dipped his whiskers,
Paws, and nose.
He doesn't go to the roof
Because he doesn't know how to climb.
Sitting on the window
He watches the moon rise.
The moon is a cheese
Dipped in a sea of indigo
And my cat wonders
If there are sardines there.
