O Orvalho Vem Caindo
Noel Rosa
The Dew is Falling
The dew is falling, it will wet my hat
And the stars up in the sky are also disappearing
I've been through such hard times
My bed is a newspaper sheet
The dew is falling, it will wet my hat
And the stars up in the sky are also disappearing
I've been through such hard times
My bed is a newspaper sheet
My curtain is a vast sky of indigo
And my alarm clock is the civil guard
(Who hasn't seen his salary yet!)
The dew is falling, it will wet my hat
And the stars up in the sky are also disappearing
I've been through such hard times
My bed is a newspaper sheet
My land grows bananas and cassava
My job is to find someone to peel them for me
(I live sad nonetheless!)
The dew is falling, it will wet my hat
And the stars up in the sky are also disappearing
I've been through such hard times
My bed is a newspaper sheet
My soup has no bone or salt
If one day I'm doing well, the next two or three I'm doing poorly
(That's very natural!)
