While He Doesn't Come
The words of Jesus still echo
In the Universe and within my heart
They were spoken by the Master so long ago
But they are incredibly current
When I see the news, I see the world
Almost on the verge of disintegrating
I remember the precious promise
That Christ, very soon, will return
But while He doesn't come, I keep waiting
While He doesn't come, I continue with faith
I lift my eyes up high
My heart tells me: He is coming
And I live my days thinking
It could be today, maybe a day or two after tomorrow
What matters to know is that He will return
And come to gather those who are already His
My greatest desire one day is to embrace Him
And throw myself at His feet in gratitude
To contemplate Him face to face like the angels
And touch the wounded hands there on the cross
When I think that day is approaching
When evil will exist no more
I am encouraged and renew my strength
With the certainty that Heaven will be my home
But while He doesn't come, I keep waiting
