Victoria, Mi Ciudad
Octavio Osuna
Victoria, My City
On 7 hills
Victoria rises
In the beautiful Entre Ríos
Which is my homeland
Flourished in poems
By Gaspar Benavento
Who was the poet son
Who knew how to sing to her
In the wide backwater
Of its warm beaches
I found many times
My refuge of love
And many times I found
With my Creole guitar
In its clear landscapes
My best reason
Victoria my city
My beloved city
Feeling of life
Of love and friendship
Fraternal embrace
For my hope
Bride of my desires
Spiritual mother
Victoria my city
In your high hills
Are the memories
Of my happy age
Fortune in time
Romantic nest
To my God I ask
To die here
Like a fragile canoe
That is left in the river
I walked with my dreams
After a lyrical desire
And although later destiny
Was joyful or somber
Never, never have I been able
To forget my city
It's because here are stars
The native songs
That illuminate the nights
Perfumed with chance
And just as simple
Are the noble men
They lavish their women
With candid humility
Victoria my city
My beloved city
Feeling of life
Of love and friendship
Fraternal embrace
For my hope
Bride of my desires
Spiritual mother
Victoria my city
In your high hills
Are the memories
Of my happy age
Fortune in time
Romantic nest
To my God I ask
To die
Here
