At the sunrise that descends
the day approaches for the finish
through the fields and woods of the homeland
in the flight of the animals returning to the nest
it's time for retreat

In the ranch that is inside
of myself
I, a faithful gaucho
curl up and meditate

Stripping off the vanity poncho
and pride
taking off my hat, putting out the pipe
and getting close for a chat
with the greatest boss

In your presence
my hot ragged blood
turns into a gentle stream
I surrender my soul
to reach far distances
and open paths
to seek destiny
I renounce my rough rebellion
I become sweet again
and soft in stride
to tell you

for all you've given me
for this homeland Lord
that my ancestors watered
with their blood
and that I learned to love since a child
