Odyn v Kanoe
Boat
And the boat drifts lazily, it grumbles and it groans
Where I came from - I don’t know; how it’ll end, who knows?
The wave splashes joyfully and flatters the boat
Like a child, curious, whispers and asks it so
Who are you, boat? What are you searching for? Where are you from and where are you going?
And what are you looking for there? What have you experienced? What are you still waiting for?
My eternal run - so I don’t know. The wave carries, the storm tears
The cliffs threaten, they beckon me to their shores
What’s there to think, what’s there to mourn, what’s there to ask about the goal!
Today to live, tomorrow to rot, today fear, and tomorrow pain
They say nature - mother holds us, as they say it should be
And in the end, she’ll take me whole back to herself
Who are you, boat? What are you searching for? Where are you from and where are you going?
And what are you looking for there? What have you experienced? What are you still waiting for?
My eternal run - so I don’t know. The wave carries, the storm tears
The cliffs threaten, they beckon me to their shores
Not one boat has sunk here, but not every one has drowned
Even if nine don’t return, the tenth one will come back around
But who knows, maybe in the storm, you’ll save yourself!
Maybe it’s you who’ll manage to reach your goal!
