The Lesson
You taught us, about love.
Showed us, how to be siblings.
But the stories remain the same.
It seems we haven't learned, the lesson.
It's always a kiss that precedes betrayal.
And in the end, everyone washes their hands.
God, we have to learn,
What love is every day.
Not let it die,
In us, your poetry.
Everyone knows our rhetoric.
No one sees us putting it into practice.
When the opportunity arises.
To wash feet, we hold back our hands.
It's always death that refreshes the memory.
And in the end, only empty tears remain.
God, we have to learn,
What love is every day.
Not let it die,
In us, your poetry.
Was the sacrifice worth it, just to bring emotions?
While tears fall, and don't touch the heart.
God, we have to learn,
What love is every day.
Not let it die,
In us, your poetry.
