Oração do Gaúcho
Omair Trindade
Gaucho's Prayer
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and with permission, Heavenly Boss
I'm arriving, slowly, while I prepare the bitter of my confidences
Because at the break of dawn and the sun's descent,
I need to ride through other pastures and emerge from the sky
The strength and courage for the challenges of the passing day
I know well that any gaucho, well-dressed, with knife and whip and spurs
If they don't assert themselves in the reins of life, they won't rely on the protection of the sky.
Listen, Heavenly Boss, to the prayer I make to you.
At the break of dawn and the sun's descent, may the whole world be like brothers
Help me forgive the offenses and not do to others what I don't want for myself.
Forgive me, my Lord, because limping through the weaknesses of human frailty
From time to time, almost unintentionally, I let myself loose through the gate...
Oh wild colt, renegade and unruly...
But I assure you, my Lord, I want to be good and upright
Help me Virgin Mary, first lady of heaven
Assist me Saint Peter, foreman of the gaucho ranch
But to end the conversation, I'll tell you, my God, but only to you:
May your will lead mine by the halter forever and ever to the homeland of heaven.
Amen.
