Chacarera Del Provinciano
Omar Roldan
Countryman's Chacarera
Like every countryman
A train took him away from his homeland
Looking for better times
Looking for bread and work
In his town he couldn't find
A reason to stay
Because the children he was raising
Had no future
He brought what he had
Little education, almost nothing
He worked whatever he could
Occasionally he got paid
Today he lives in a little house
Still unfinished
Yesterday he woke up happy
Dreamed of returning to his homeland
His children always had
Bread on the table
From fighting life so much
His skin became old
He spent so many years
Chasing after luck
He says that hope
Is what makes you stronger
If sometimes he drinks and gets
Sad unintentionally one day
It's because he's running out
Of the cigarette of life
Today he lives in a little house
Still unfinished
Yesterday he woke up happy
Dreamed of returning to his homeland
