Mi Pueblo
Omar Trampe
My Hometown
How can I not adore my beloved hometown
If in every memory I have, you're always there
When I played soccer with my cousins as a kid
In your streets of history, under April rains
How many mosquitoes quenched their thirst with my desires...
To stay out late, by the chalaca shore
Not to mention the wide ford and the uninhabited
Whole families, always enjoying
And coming back soaked in happiness
Is another reason not to forget you
How can I not miss the smell of coffee
That my mom used to make at dawn
And the touch of cinnamon, a special flavor
That many people use in my hometown
That little mango with chili and lime
That only in town the mangoes are plentiful
And that mill that never stops making chocolate
Whisking away, it's a work of art
The park and its traditional folkloric dates
Dressed up in splendor, with love and friendship
I have tattooed in my mind the meeting point
Benito Juarez, I carry you in my heart
Long live all its people, their love and faith
Their beloved church: San Bartolome
Chicozapote, avocado, cocoa, and nance
Their sacred fruits, from my hometown
You gave me friends like siblings, my first love
You filled my soul and heart with life
You gave color to my world, you gave it flavor
That's why I say I love you in this song
My blessed town, my village of my heart
Aylelelelele aylelelelela
(x4)
Escobo, Santa Cruz, Hidalgo, and Zacualpa
I carry them deep in my soul and will never forget them.
