Jesus is the friend I seek
Safe shelter in times of war
Jesus is my companion
My God, my shield
My eternal rock

He arrives when I need him most
If I'm sad, he brings my smile
He is the beginning, the middle, the end
He is everything to me
That's why I say

Jesus is the rain
That refreshes my hot day
In the cold, he is like that blanket
That warms my dawn
Jesus is the river
Whose currents quench my thirst
In my tiredness, he is like a net
That makes me rest peacefully
And travel with him
He arrives when I need him most
