Ginete de Fronteira
Os Serranos
Border Cowboy
I was born a cowboy in a border ranch
Country life for those who live in the countryside
I grew up playing breaking in colts
There's always another one for the tamer's claws
That wide-hipped sorrel with an open front
Alert ear in the paradise ranch
Was prepared for a cowboy to show off
And dance on the reins in the flash of a smile
Weekend when I get ready for work
I review life in the Chilean saddle
Blood bath, scented water, and a new outfit
Dance in the town and the scent of brunettes
(Monday when I return to the skins
New approaches come around my mind
I pretend that time hasn't passed
And from where I am, I ride on the wind's manes)
Every day I see life differently
In this slope where the pure verse is born
At the slow pace of the saddle partner
I carry the longings of Rio Grande through the tough
