Os Tiranos Os Tiranos

Country Life

Whinny of colts and bellow of cattle
Are old legacies that the ranch gave me
The dawn arose and the rooster crowing
Announcing that the day has begun.
It's a day of field work and corral
This rural work ennobles the cowboy
The gourd of mate rumbles and the jingle of spurs
Is the soundtrack of the old shed.

This is the country life that I preserve and live
In my native land that is my longing
Where I preserve the essence in my core and roots
To apply in experience and thus live happily.
Country life is the purest beauty
Of this nature that expands in the homeland
It's shed talk, a circle of mate
And a hearty barbecue, the tradition of Rio Grande.

After the afternoon nap, the fence repairs
So that no cattle is lost to the other side
I stretch the wire and lock it with a good clamp
No fierce bull or stubborn ox will break through
As the evening falls, I finish the work
Routine of life, a daily struggle
I head to the ranch at a brisk trot
To cheerfully share a mate with my lady.
