Shantytown Face
Now that the rain is already moving away
The wind pushing towards Christmas
I hear a murmur of the little bells
I see lights on in every doorway
Now that the fishing net has remained still
And the boat waits in front of the mangrove
The sea is peaceful, the land is peaceful
But there are many children who have no bread
Shantytown face, skinny body due to malnutrition
Shantytown face, what have you asked the little child God
I have asked the child to give me strength
So that very soon I can work
Because my poor mother, some days she cries
Because there is no bit of bread at dawn
Shantytown face, skinny body due to malnutrition
Shantytown face, never knew Christmas
Listen good friend, listen good Christian
If you have never been hungry in your home
Take a little walk through the slums
Share with them when it's Christmas
Shantytown face, skinny body due to malnutrition
Shantytown face, never knew Christmas
