Aurora Boreal
Oscar Lee
Aurora Borealis
How many times have we existed before me?
I see no difference between being awake and asleep
My days and my nights flow in unison
My mouth and my mind articulate as one
I’m searching for something outside this consciousness
On the horizon, I see your glow pulsing
I remember who I am through the art of reminiscence
And I feel the traces of my true essence
There’s so little room in the brain, so little
That I evoke my memories with poor fidelity
So I mix reality and imagination
I gather fragments of life like a scavenger
I feel alone in this vast universe
I perceive geometric shapes on the flip side
The warmth of your kisses can’t be counted in numbers
Infinite like what’s behind the sky
I want to give you life
Explode like a suicidal manifestation
And let every tear I’ve held pierce
Your skin, writing the most beautiful message
And if we could be together until the end
I’d show you the colors of eternity
You know I don’t want to stop loving you
You know I want to lie down and fly
You know that every second with you drives me crazy and
I find myself every time I touch you
Sorry if sometimes what I offer falls short
But if I let my tears flow, I’d break
So much you’ve given me without asking for anything in return
More than the certainty that I’ll hold your hand
And that alone keeps me terrified
But no matter what happens, I’ll be by your side
In this life and the next
Flowing like water in the same current
Showing up in different situations
Learning from the cosmos and growing strong
And if one day I can’t find you
I’d travel through entire worlds without a doubt
Of the love I hold for you and our friendship
Of the value of unity and freedom
In your eyes, I can see my soul reflected
And all I can think of is a bunch of nonsense that
Can’t express what I feel inside well
Not even in the song I dedicated to you yesterday
Anxiety eats me from within
Like acid feeding on my body
Hey, love, I need your kisses
And for our spirits to reach a consensus
That we’re both made of the same stuff
Take my individualism far away, builder of illusions
And all the egocentrism
That hurts and burns—far from the path
Because I’m also lost and navigating
With one eye on the scribble and the other on my past
Settling scores with the lines of your lips
And reaching with my hands what’s idealized
Looking into the void, we are aurora borealis
Hoping that the moment has no end
Deciphering our own humanity
While the tick-tock sounds, while the tick-tock sounds
Looking into the void, we are aurora borealis
Hoping that the moment has no end
Deciphering our own humanity
While the tick-tock sounds, while the tick-tock sounds
