Del Campo a La Ciudad
Oscar Ovidio
From the Countryside to the City
From the countryside to the city, innocence is lost
There, there is only love and here, there is only violence
I would like to go back to the countryside and its meadows
I know I won't return, but I will miss it, until the day I die
How beautiful it is to hear the roosters crow
Or in the countryside, ride on the back of a horse
And to be able to breathe the pure air
I came to understand that being in the city is truly tough
From the countryside to the city, customs are lost
How nice it is to warm tortillas in the fire
There, a plate of beans tastes better
It's a blessing to accompany it with a cup of atole
Everyone who lives there complains about poverty
Natural life is a great wealth
We realize that everything has been lost
Maybe in the city we can't think, the noise hinders us
Watching the clock every moment
To be able to get to work on time
I didn't have a boss where I used to live
But I thought of coming to the city
And life here is different
To be able to live, you have to work daily
From work to home, it becomes routine
With motor noises, one lives all day
That's how it is in the city, so much technology makes me sick
From the countryside to the city, customs are lost
How nice it is to warm tortillas in the fire
There, a plate of beans tastes better
It's a blessing to accompany it with a cup of atole
