El Camaro
Oscar Ovidio
The Camaro
No more stepping on the gas
the engine roared, fixed
impeccable its paint
fully equipped
it just needed to speak
that beautiful Camaro
I bought it for Junior
so he could ride well
when he cruised in it
he was the envy of the neighborhood
I never thought that my son
had been bought by death
He was only fifteen
it showed on his face
when I saw him in his Camaro
I looked at his wings
not even a chicken had feathers
and I wanted him to fly
One Sunday morning
everything seemed joyful
suddenly I was informed
of what I never thought
in a car accident
Junior was lifeless
Maybe I was to blame
for giving him everything in life
I didn't want him to lack
what he didn't have at his age
if GOD sent us without wings
why did I put them on him
Things have their time
and I took him early
for loving my children so much
some parents fail
instead of giving them everything
why don't we prepare them
He was only fifteen
it showed on his face
when I saw him in his Camaro
I looked at his wings
not even a chicken had feathers
and I wanted him to fly
