Beloved brothers: listen to this story
Sad and regrettable, that I heard yesterday
Of a Christian soul that has returned to sin
And is wandering in the darkness.

His church was full of souls
They rejoiced to see their pastor
But suddenly an evil arrow
Struck his soul and fell to the ground.

Lord, for what reason is this soul
Lost in sin, covered in evil
If he preached and souls were saved
Lord, why is he in sin.

He is no longer the nightingale that used to sing
That missionary who once preached
The blessed new sacred words
Of the holy gospel of the Son of God.
