Igarapé Das Mulheres

Women's Stream
Time takes everything
Time takes life
Outside, the daisies bring color
I remember the joy
Floating in those waters
And seeing the washerwomen washing away the pain
And they washed my lost hope
Of growing up there in the stream
And they washed away the fear I had of life
And now, what is my fear?
My ship, a log, sailed
The stars, among the stilt houses
And the washerwomen
In my adventures, Poraquê
Pirarara, Piranha, Manatee, Boto, Igara
And they washed my corrupted passion
The women of the stream
The Joanas, Marias, goddesses, Margaridas
Will wash away whatever comes
