Bandolins
Oswaldo Montenegro
Bandolins
As if it were a pair that in this sad waltz
Unfolded to the sound of the mandolins
And why not say
That the world breathed more if she held tight like this
Her lap as if it weren't a time
When it was already improper to dance like this
She insisted and faced the world
Twirling to the sound of the mandolins
As if it were a home, her body the sad waltz
Lit up and the night walked like this
And like a pair, the wind and the dawn
Lit up the fairy of my bar
Waltzing like a child waltzes
Who joins the circle, the night is ending
She waltzing alone in the dawn
Thinking she's loved to the sound of the mandolins
