In life's disappointments
As dreams fade away
There's always a goodbye
Amidst a sorrowful song

There's always a white handkerchief
And tears welling in someone's eyes
From someone left behind
Watching another walk away

But, there's always hope
In the life of those who fight
To not walk so sadly
On the road they take

But, there's always hope
Knocking at our door
Saving the faith that's nearly dead
In the resurrection of love

In the rose, above the ground
But, it hasn't wilted yet
It holds the same sadness
In the rhyme that ends a verse

Because when the rose wilts
The scent fades away
Dissolves like the rhyme
Of a verse someone forgets
